Importing Your Contacts into LinkedIn
September 25th, 2009We are often asked for help in importing a customer’s business card contacts into the business networking tool LinkedIn. Here are the simple steps to connect your business card contacts to your LinkedIn account:
- Export your contacts from CloudContacts – you can select all of your contacts or a subset by clicking the export box next to each name you would like to export.
- Save the file to your computer
- Click this link – you may need to login to LinkedIn – once you have logged in, you will be prompted for the contacts file – select the file you downloaded in step #2
- That’s it – follow the steps on the LinkedIn site and your contacts will be connected and/or receive invitations to connect
As always, let us know if you have any questions about the CloudContacts service.

Good info! Thanks. People will want to know: will contacts that I’m already connected to in LinkedIn be invited to connect? Or does LinkedIn know not to re-invite? I suspect the later, but your blog readers might want to know for sure.

Hi Jim – I am pretty sure that it won’t try to double connect – that’d be bad
I will verify today and post a followup if our theory is incorrect.
